Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she garnered an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. Her upbringing was in a home with four other brothers. In childhood, Delaney dreamed about becoming an official reporter for the court. She began modelling in high school and then gaining commercial opportunities when she relocated to New York. Delaney was portrayed as an innocent child in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Since then Delaney has appeared in numerous films television movies and dramas. Similar to her profession, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. She is gifted and stunning, has had to battle addiction to alcohol prior to that. The marriages she has had failed two times. The actress lost custody of her son in 2005.
